Fourteen thousand
square kilometres of sky.
The oldest grassland ecosystem on earth and the stage for the great migration. Two million wildebeest move through it in a slow clockwise turn, and the predators follow.
Four Serengetis. One ecosystem.
Seronera
Resident game year-round — the highest lion and leopard density in the park. The safe choice if your dates are fixed and the herds are elsewhere.
Ndutu & southern plains
Short-grass calving grounds. Half a million calves born inside three weeks in February, with cheetah and hyena in constant attendance.
Western Corridor
The Grumeti River and its crocodiles. Herds push through May and June, and the crossings here are less trafficked than the north.
Kogatende & Lamai
Mara River crossings, July to October. Remote, expensive to reach, and the single most dramatic wildlife event in Africa.
The year, month by month.
Where the herds sit, month by month. Sightings are never guaranteed — rainfall moves the whole calendar by two or three weeks either way.
Odds, not promises.
Percentages are our own guides’ hit rate over a four-night stay in the central and northern sectors.
Camps and lodges.

Three things we tell everyone.
Fly, don't drive, to the north
Arusha to Kogatende is eleven hours on road and ninety minutes in a Cessna. On any northern itinerary, budget the flight.
Balloon flights book out
Six weeks ahead in high season. It is $599 a head and worth it once.
Park fees are per 24 hours
Entering at 2pm and leaving at 4pm the next day costs two days. We build itineraries around the clock, not the calendar.
